Repeating Educational Opportunities

These events and classes are not homeschool-specific.  Please contact Lubbock Homeschool News if you'd like to list an event here.  Camps listed here occur during the summer months, but often have spring registration deadlines.

Engineering Camp -- TTU Engineering Outreach Center
Annual hands-on summer engineering camp for incoming 5th & 6th graders. Cancelled for 2006.  $250.

FIELD TRIPS - K12 International Education Outreach
The Texas Tech International Cultural Center is always a good resource for unique field trips.  Check out their online schedule. You can register online or over the phone.  Field trip cost is $2/child.  The Ellis Island Experience is a perennial favorite. 

TexPrep-Lubbock
Six and a half-week summer college prep seminar for students interested in science, math, computers, and/or engineering.  Through the TTU Math Department. Free.  Can attend up to 4 years.  Can win partial scholarships to Tech.

Lessons at Buddy Holly Center
The Buddy Holly Center invites you to participate in many new and exciting educational programs, including guitar lessons, songwriting workshops, docent training, and art classes. All class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required four days prior to the start of the class.
